Badminton Racquets:

Court Dimensions:

For badminton the court must be rectangular and divided into two equal portions by net courts are normally made for single player on each side or double players on each side. although according to the rules of BWF court has to be marked for single player only If there are double players on each side than the court must be wider than the single court but their length must be same.

Size:

For single player the width of badminton court must be5.18 meters which is about (17feet) where for doubles the width of court increases to the size of 6.1 meters (20 feet) the length of court for single players and double players must be the same size of 13.4 meters (44 feet). For dividing the width of the court the service courts are marked by a center line of 1.98 meters (6 feet 6 inches) from the net. and the outer side and boundaries in doubles are the service court is also marked by a long service line about 0.76 meters (2 feet 6 inches) and from back boundaries the net is 1.55 meters (5feet 1 inch) high at the edges and 1.524 meters (5 feet) high in the center. and the net post must be placed over the sidelines in single and double players game.

The BWF has not mentioned the height of the ceiling above the court so it can be played in door and out door. but they didn't recommend the badminton court where ceiling got hit on a high serve

Game rules:

In badminton game starts with the first serve by a coin toss. the server must has to clear the net and through the shuttle cock in the opposite service area. The opponent must hit the shuttle cock back before it hits the ground no game begins and will remain continue until the shuttle cock hit the ground on any one side of the court or the opponent force each other to hit the shuttlecock into the net or out of the court lines.

Scouring system has been changed by BWF in dec 2005. Before dec 2005 the players could only make a point by their on service. but after dec 2005 the rule changed and now player can get or make a point even if they did not serve for the particular point. winning rules are one player must be two points a head when he reaches to 21. but if both the players gain 29 points then the next point taker will be considered winner. badminton matches are decided on best of 3 games.

Badminton In Pakistan:

In 1953 Pakistan badminton federation founded. the first president of PBF was General nawab mamdot and the first secretary was mr. sultan F. hussain. PBF announced their first participation in 1954 Thomas cup when the beat sirilanka on 9-0 the players who represented Pakistan were irshad ahmad, menen sores, rustam arucha, shamshad ali, lateef gania, and saeed malik, legend PBF players were salah ud din, nazir rajput, massod khan, fazal haq S.naqvi mohsin and akram beg females title winners were ismat saeed, talat sultana, elisie hunt, ghazala wadood, and nighat sultana.

In 1973 when S.naqvi mohsin took the charge of secretary general of Pakistan badminton federation the golden period of badminton starts during his period in 1974 Asian games held in Tehran Iran, Pakistan made the best ever performance by defeating Japan and Korea by 3-0 and 3-1 and make their way to semi finals. however Japan and Korea were known as badminton giants.
